Enjoy live Shakespeare while betting on the actors you think will forget the most lines, and cheering your favorite cast members to encourage them on to the end!
Popularly referred to as “Shakespeare for Sports Fans,” the UNREHEARSED! series is a great opportunity for actors to go toe-to-toe with the bard, while simultaneously stretching their improv muscles. Cast members are given just 30 days to learn their lines and get off book. At NO TIME are they permitted to rehearse with each other or coordinate performances. Audiences will be delighted to see referees standing by, ready to call “foul” and flag actors for missed cues, flubbed lines, and ad-libbing.
A two hour extravaganza of live-theatre magic mixed with the hilarious hijinks of hoping actors will mess up! The performance is free, but betting on the performers is highly encouraged!
For those of you who are new to this format, here’s how it works:
- Our actors got their scripts 30 days ago—they are asked to memorize their lines and cues.
- They are not allowed to rehearse or coordinate with anyone else in the cast. They only find out who else is in the show from our social media posts—same as you!
- Each actor builds a complete character and world on their own— 70s glam rock star, cowboy alien, robot messenger —you name it
- The result? A wild, joyful exercise in creativity, improv, and total trust.
- They are joined by our brilliant referees, who will call fouls for missed lines, cues, props, volume—and more. Three fouls in one scene? That actor dons the dunce cap and reads from the script!
- And just to keep things even more unpredictable, the refs will throw in surprise games and challenges throughout the show!
